Light, Love, Hope - Christmas Community Project 2020

In conjunction with the Killamarsh Christmas Community Project 2020 themed on Light, Love and Hope, I have been in contact with the two nursing homes, two nurseries and three local schools regarding receiving Christmas Christian resources.

All the conversations I have had expressed a willingness to receive the resources. Additionally all expressed a thankfulness of having been thought of especially at this critical time when everyone collectively is striving to do their very best during the pandemic and the fact that gifts were to be received without fundraising having to be done. The idea of the gifts in themselves have already offered Light, Love and Hope.

It is the gifting of St Giles Church to offer the following free resources:- Bethlehem Carol Sheets with accompanying CD’s to the residents and staff of the two nursing homes, a copy of ‘My Mini Bible Sticker Book – Christmas’ to the 123 children who attend either Killamarsh Bears or the Killamarsh Day Nursery and a ‘Meet the Cast’ colourful booklet to the 603 children attending the three schools. Additionally the Comfort and Joy booklets and bookmarks emanating from St Giles Church will be distributed to members of the Killamarsh Community.

The joy of Christmas and of giving just gets better and better! Our Methodist friends are supporting this wonderful initiative by handcrafting beautiful Christmas Stars with the star gift tag saying “Matthew 2:2 We have seen his star in the east and have come to worship him. May you find Christ’s peace, joy and fellowship this Christmas”. The stars will be given to the staff and residents of the two nursing homes, and staff of the two nurseries, three schools as well as members St Giles Church community. At the last count there will be 363 stars to be distributed as well as all the stars offered through the Killamarsh Methodist Church’s own channels of mission during the festive season.

All the resources are scheduled to be delivered to the various organisations on Wednesday 2nd December between 11am-12noon

Christmas in Killamarsh will certainly be offering Light, Love and Hope.

May God’s peace be a blessing to us all.
